With over 4 years of research, the Board of Directors unanimously approved a major improvement for Loveland Rotary. Beginning January 6th, 2009, our new home will be the Fountains of Loveland.
The Pulliam Building has served us well for nearly 70 years. ADA and safety concerns, our 192+ membership numbers, our room comfort and most importantly, our member feedback, led the Board to this sensible conclusion. The Fountains has agreed to a minimal cost increase and superior accommodations. This will be a great new chapter in the life of the Loveland Rotary Club. Our Q&A sheet will soon be posted at www.LovelandRotary.org, and feel free to contact any Director or President Ryan with questions and interests in the Angel Fund. In fact, Rotarian Bob Snyder has already suggested that a carpool could be based from his downtown Loveland office! Thanks Bob! |

| Just Ducky |
Lynn Matson FOREVER!!! Well, how about that Duck Race Committee this year? Lynn Matson, Bob Schaible and countless (tireless) others put together an amazing fundraiser for us this year, totalling a net $31,000 for Loveland Rotary, and nearly $38,000 total when we add in the other charities haul. Swagger? Yup, our ducks have it. Nearly 100 Best Dressed and 'Special' Sponsor Ducks, and THOUSANDS of litte duckies racing down the Big Thompson on August 23rd. Thank you to each and every Rotarian and volunteer that helped make our 2008 Loveland Rotary Rubber Duck Derby a fantastic success!

| Big Numbers |
Loveland Rotary is not only growing, it's EXPLODING with outstanding community-serving Rotarians. With nearly 200 members, our new meeting place coming, and well-developed Committee work, this is a great time to invite QUALIFIED and CARING prospective members to visit our club. Loveland Rotary is the benchmark service club for our City of Loveland, but did you know it is also a benchmark club for our Rotary District? Established in 1920, Loveland Rotary continues to support Literacy projects with scholarships, dictionaries and teacher recognition. PLUS worldwide work to erradicate Polio. PLUS further developments with our Latin American Dental Projects. PLUS...PLUS...PLUS...isn't it amazing? In tough global and economic times, this is what life is all about. YOU should be very proud to be a part of Loveland Rotary. |
| Where's Randy? |
Randy King is one travelling dude, but let's hope he's not becoming a Dallas Cowboys fan. Randy works so hard as the Chair of our Secretarial Committee, but did you know that he's building things all over the place? Yup, that might be him in the crane in the picture, putting up a massive new structure in Texas. Don't forget, we still have members that need to purify their Paul Harris standing ('Click and Be Counted), so call Randy or email him if you haven't gone to www.Rotary.org and viewed your membership information. |

Interact News OUR FUTURE ROTARIANS!!!
8/22/08
The group has enjoyed various activities over the past year. They utilize the Thompson Valley Rotary Club's Pedal Cabs to spread good will and earn money to fund their various projects. Starting with Prom 2008, several youth transported prom couples from the parking lot to the dance. It was a chance for high school students to "market" Interact to other high school students (and they earned ~$50). Around this time the group was able to send funds with Dorothy Cada and Kathleen Weinmeister (TV Rotarians) who traveled to Myanmar to help with an orphanage. Their funds directly purchased rice, chairs and soccer balls for the grateful children. The next venue for the Pedal Cabs was "Cruz-In" nights in Loveland. A fun event that gave them a chance to spread awareness of Interact and to work together and organize future events. (and they earned ~$25) They have been staying in contact with Greeley West's Interact group and helped market GW Interact's Carwash that was in support of the Windsor Tornado victims. On that note, a couple of Loveland Interact members went to Windsor and picked up roofing and other tornado debris and loaded it into a farm dump truck and took it to the landfill. Loveland and Greeley Interact groups sprinkled in a couple of barn dance/bbq's this summer. One of the ways the Interact Club voted to reach out was to make Balloon Animals. They worked with Mr. Clay to learn the tricks of turning balloons into smiles. They used this new found skill on the 4th of July when they created hundreds of animals for children at the park. The event also gave them the opportunity to once again use the Pedal Cabs. Here they earned ~$400 from the balloons, cabs and by selling beverages. At that same event they sold 44 Duck Race Tickets. They are planning to help sell even more Duck Race Tickets at the Corn Roast Festival. The next action item for the youth is to plan their Inauguration Ceremony for the first part of the school year. They have plans to use their funds for International projects and their time and talents for local activities, specifically helping area children. For more information contact Darryl Beemer at 635-2379 or Brooke Regan at 667-9532.
Please call or email Ryan Ferrero with any ideas, thoughts, concerns or matters that need attention. While our transition for our meeting location is long over due, it is not easy to change. Carpooling, the 'Angel Fund', meals information, so much to do by the first of the year. Rest assured your Board of Directors has been and is working diligently to maximize your membership.
Yours in Rotary,
Ryan J. Ferrero
